The Georgia General Assembly passed House Bill 337 (HB337) to modernize the filing of state tax liens effective 01/01/2018. This bill affects anyone involved in the transfer of real property, such as property owners, closing attorneys, title insurance professionals, real estate professionals, and mortgage bankers. The Georgia Department of Revenue (DOR) and the Georgia Superior Court Clerks’ Cooperative Authority (GSCCCA) have developed SOLVED (Satisfaction of Liens Via Electronic Database) to meet the requirements of HB 337. In connection with its annual Commercial Seminar and Scholarship Dinner held at the Capitol City Club in downtown Atlanta, the Real Property Law Section of the State Bar of Georgia awarded several scholarships to individuals from Georgia law schools. Born and raised here in Atlanta, Adam is a recent graduate of Georgia State University's College of Law and currently works with the real estate group of Baker Hostetler. His practice primarily involves acquisition, development, and leasing in office space and multi-family housing contexts. Adam is an avid golfer, and enjoys cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs in his free time. Eric Kramer Originally from Alamo, Georgia, Eric enrolled at Mercer Law School after spending several years as a real estate paralegal in Savannah. He is currently in the top 10% of hisclass, a member of the Mercer Law Review, and has received several CALI awards, including one for Real Estate Transactions. Amanuel Micael Born in Eritrea and, Amanuel moved to North Carolina at a very young age. He graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a bachelor's degree in political science. In May he graduated from Emory University School of Law. Amanuel recently passed the Georgia bar exam and will be working in Atlanta. He has three brothers and a sister. His interests include basketball, football, soccer, and running. Paul Wildes Paul Wildes is an associate for Drew, Eckl & Farnham, LLP, where his practice focuses on representing employers and insurers in workers' compensation claims and first-party insurance matters. Paul received his J.D. from the University of Georgia School of Law, and his B.A. from the University of Georgia. During law school, Paul served on the Managing Board for the Georgia Law Review and interned with Magistrate Judge J. Clay Fuller of the Northern District of Georgia. During his last year in law school, Paul served as a Legal Fellow for the Carl Vinson Institute of Government. In his spare time, Paul enjoys spending time with his wife, Katy, and his son, Win. |
