 Justice George H. Carley was presented with the 2017 Pindar Award by the Real Property Law Section at the annual Real Property Law Institute in Destin, Florida. Born in Jackson, Mississippi in 1938, and a double University of Georgia graduate, Justice Carley was appointed to the Georgia Court of Appeals in 1979 by Governor George D. Busbee. He was later elevated to the Georgia Supreme Court in 1993 by Governor Zell Miller. Justice Carley served on the Georgia Supreme Court until his retirement in 2012. Prior to his service in the appellate courts, Justice Carley was in private practice with the law firms of Hansel Post Brandon & Dorse and McCurdy & Candler. He also served as a representative in the Georgia House of Representatives from 1966 to 1971. Congratulations to Justice Carley.
