The Real Property Law Section is composed of attorneys practicing in the area of commercial and residential real estate. The purpose of the Real Property Law Section is to actively sponsor the continuing education of the bar in this field, to promote cooperation with other professional and business groups engaged in related activities, and to study, review, or initiate proposed legislation or administrative policy for the improvement of the law in this field and make appropriate recommendations thereto to the State Bar of Georgia all in conformity with the statutes, orders, bylaws, or other rules, regulations, or established policies governing the State Bar of Georgia.

Three seminars jointly sponsored with ICLE are held each year: one designed for residential practitioners in the spring, one designed for commercial practitioners in the fall, and the Real Property Law Institute which provides programs for both residential and commercial practitioners and is usually held in May of each year. The Real Property Law Section is governed by its Executive Committee consisting of the Chairperson, the Chairperson-Elect, the Secretary-Treasurer, the immediate past Chairperson of the Section, and in addition at least fifteen, but not more than twenty-one, regular members.

The activities of the Real Property Law Section are implemented through various committees chaired by and made up of Executive Committee Members; however, any section member having a desire to serve on a committee is encouraged to contact the chairman of such committee identified in the list of committees that can be accessed below.
